About

DHG Creative was founded with the idea that all video should be entertaining and engaging. Artful storytelling is mixed with compelling visuals to captivate the audience and deliver your messaging. DHG is owned and operated by David Gibbs who serves as the company’s Executive Producer and Director of Photography. Gibbs maintains a very active role, both overseeing projects and creating their look and feel. Gibbs has spent the last 23 years running productions and honing his craft . When you work with DHG you are working with the best because like Gibbs the crew is comprised of seasoned veterans who are some of the most talented in the business.

Gibbs has written, produced and shot for television including networks such as History, Discovery, Food and HGTV. Over recent years he served as the Director of Photography for the hit HGTV Shows, Kitchen Cousins, Cousins on Call and Cousins Undercover. The unique look and feel of the franchise was created with DSLR cameras, which previously had not been used for principal photography in a television series. Gibbs was instrumental in pioneering systems and workflows that made the format work in demanding production environments.

Gibbs has also worked with numerous corporate and government clients to produce a wide array of media including marketing videos, training programs, commercials and promotional spots. He has produced internationally for Lowes Hotels, Fisher Price, Benjamin Moore Paints and Discovery International. Gibbs has worked on all kinds of productions in many different genres. He was the Director of Photography for a live Nils Lofgren concert, produced the top selling instructional lacrosse DVD with marquee player Mark Millon and managed the production of an interactive, online marketing campaign for Kolh’s. Gibbs is also a video production consultant and helps guide his clients through the process and considerations that are essential to running an effective and efficient production.

Prior to starting DHG, Gibbs spent twelve years as the Executive in Charge of Production for BrainBox where he guided the creation of hundreds of hours of cable network programming. He has run productions ranging from a NASCAR reality series for Discovery Channel to a scripted studio series for the Food Network, starring Ted Allen. Gibbs has handled delicate topics too as such as Camp 911: Children of Hope, a documentary about a special place for children to heal from the tragedies of 911. Over his career there is not much Gibbs has not done. He is at home running high profile, million dollar series or stretching production dollars to maximize results for small budget projects.

Today DHG continues to support the television industry and up the ante of what can be produced in the corporate video sector. Gibbs loves his craft and builds teams of like-minded professionals to get the best possible results for his clients.
